Genesis

Even in blindness
my hands make sense.

When the ground shakes,
my feet will grow roots.

In black nothing
I exist somewhere—

a small seed in the pavement.

Rachel E. Frankel is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in San Francisco. She studied painting, drawing, and literature in college, and has recently rekindled her love of writing. You can find her daydreaming, drawing in cafes, or making something new in the kitchen. Her favorite animal is the snail.
