Don’t assume these poems are about me
they may be easily

about people I know or wish to
or never want to know at all

they may be about the sky
when I’m thick with the insides
of my apartment

Or they may be about nothing at all
just words I like to glue to each other
and somehow make sense of
but not the kind I meant

Don’t assume these poems are about me
But don’t assume they aren’t.

Andrea DeAngelis is at times a poet, writer, shutterbug and musician living in New York City. Andrea sings and plays guitar in the indie rock band MAKAR (http://www.makarmusic.com). They are in the midst of recording their 3rd album Fancy Hercules, which is the weirdest one yet. When she cannot sleep she tweets about contracting fatal insomnia. Her writing has appeared in Tin House’s blog The Open Bar, Sententia, 2 AM Project and Umbrella Factory.
