Small Boats Killing Time in a Room

You have to be lost
To find a place that can’t be found
—from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

I’m going to throw
The most magnificent garden party

At my house in Pigeon Cove
& not face death

Any time soon
It’s OK

The Parrot Head’s
A good friend

A small boat killing time in a room
He’s watching the children

Paint what they see
Please find it

In your heart
To just let this whole

Scenario play out
& not say anything hurtful

Or goddamned
& if you do

Painting like children
Will become our subject
