For K.

Layer by layer the light
flows away from him. Salt water
rinses his mouth of its own
accord. He comes
to a place that is full of
familiar faces, has a lifetime
of interaction ahead. He
was last seen swimming out
to sea. It is an incomplete epitaph.

Mark Young’s most recent books are Bandicoot habitat & lithic typology, both from gradient books of Finland. An e-book, For the Witches of Romania, is due out from Beard of Bees.
