Of Ghosts

the thing relates
to the life
of ghosts

i remember
once in a dream
when satan
lived in the soot
of our kitchen

ceiling, and she
begged to appear
in the spaces
of our hearts

humming with
sweet melodies
after the night
fell deeply asleep

a long night
on an empty stomach:
the gas cooker
long forgotten
started a fire
burnt a ghostly voice
that hung over
the darkened ceiling
