Letters from Mak

Have you makan yet
You better not eat pork there
Don’t forget to write

Did you pack enough
Mak will send you some Milo
Don’t forget to write

Have you found a job
Tell them “I from Singapore”
Don’t forget to write

Did you steal again
I told you to behave right
Don’t forget to write

Have you bought ticket
Ramadan begins next week
Don’t forget to write

Did you miss prayers
What is this “renounce my faith”
Don’t forget to write

Have you heard the news
Come home Mak wants to see you
Don’t forget to write

Did you change address
My mail keeps returning back
Don’t forget to write

Having humble beginnings, Al Hafiz Sanusi’s first performance on stage was as a calefare in his secondary school’s musical. Nevertheless, it ignited a theatrical passion in him and he has never looked back since. He has since branched out and delved into different platforms such as writing, directing, and spoken word poetry. Recently, Al Hafiz graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a BA (Hons) in English Literature. He keeps himself busy by jumping into new projects, either in writing or performing.
