Afterlife

Tomorrow, we will find water
in newspaper clippings.
Ink draining into a language
with the spaces unslinging.

To catalogue history
is not enough to taste
like water. We will drink
an unrecognizable and wrack it

with a searchlight.

Alisha Yi is a writer from Las Vegas, Nevada.
