Comatose

wind pushed you
to the pavement,
swinging ropes across
your frontal lobe—

I pull the shards from
black holes
close together, your heart
heaving your lungs,
our harp string veins
braiding each other—

only in my head
can I see your face,
your breath, the beating rain—
