After Before

There is only this
before after
a couple of moments
then now
those who have
those who have not

A sadness of ages
younger older
accessible not accessible
rejection indifference
those who know
those who do not

There is only the body
before after
a couple of gestures
then now
those who will
those who will not

Of these actions
before after
after before
I’ve made combinations
of life and death
Now I need a smoke
