I look into the street & I see God in the dusk
in the shadow in the silence
in the winds.
I see God—jealous of the sins he forgets
Like roses—
I find God inside me—his beauty flowing like water in my veins
I see God—noble & sweet.
I see God & my body is a chapel
Men walk up to with holy water and sacrifice
So the next time I see God, he walks into my dream like everybody else.
