Midnight.
Wheels grinding against metal.
Two people, inches apart, surrounded by
A hundred others, sitting just a little further.
She grabs the cotton covering his arm,
Pulls it over her neck, and nuzzles
Her own into his shoulder.
His hand relaxes, molding into her
Skin and connecting them as a
Single piece of plaster.
Their heads slowly sway into each other’s,
Hair intertwining into a net of never
Connected colors, while their eyes close.
This is the only moment in time where
They will ever be intimate. Past this,
They will never touch again.
Tired eyes turned two strangers into
So much more, if only for a moment.
But it was only just that.
A moment.
